Why should I join the Basic Theory course when converting my foreign licence?

It is a requirement for a foreign licence holder to pass the Basic Theory Test before applying for the conversion of a driving licence. The Basic Theory Course is conducted for motorists to prepare them for their Basic Theory Test. 

Course details:

  • One (01) session (100 minutes) of classroom theoretical lesson in Chinese or English
  • Four (04) computerised Theory Trial tests in Chinese, English, Malay, Tamil or Japanese.
Course Curriculum
  • Introduction and respect for Traffic Rules
  • Type and Classification of Driving Licence
  • Violation of Rules and its consequences
  • Traffic Signs and Signals
  • Traffic Lights and Hand Signal of Police Officer
  • Traffic rules and regulations.

 * Eyesight test is required.
