How do I convert my foreign driving licence to a Singapore driving licence?

Modified on Wed, Jul 24 at 10:18 AM

Motorists who wish to convert their Foreign Driving Licence to a Singapore Driving Licence must register and pass the Traffic Police Basic Theory Test (BTT) before submitting their application to the Traffic Police.

You may register online via our Student Portal or visit our Service Centre on Monday to Friday at 11.30 am, 1.30 pm and 4.30 pm. Click here for registration fees. Do note that if you've passed BTT before, you are not required to re-sit for it to convert your license.

You must submit your application through Traffic Police FormSG. You will receive an auto-reply acknowledgement in your email upon submission. Traffic Police will verify your eligibility for the conversion before informing you of the outcome via email within 6 weeks. Only successful applicants will receive an appointment slot to provide their original documents for verification and to complete the application process at the Traffic Police Headquarters.
