What do I need to do for Class 4 or Class 5 course enrolment?

Foreigners 

[Work permit, Short-Term Employment Pass (S Pass) or Employment Pass (EP) holders]

 

Step 1

Apply in person at the Traffic Police Woodlands Test Centre (WTC) at SSDC, level 1 with the following documents:

  • Valid Class 3/ 3C/ 4 Singapore qualified driving licence
  • Work permit, SP or EP
  • Work permit & SP holders' occupation must show as a Driver; no requirement for an EP holder
  • Signed company letter showing that the staff is employed as heavy vehicle drivers
  • Print out of Work pass status (scan the QR code at the back of the work pass)
  • Vehicle log card (Class 5 only).

 

Step 2

After Traffic Police endorsement, proceed to SSDC Service Centre, level 3 to take & pass the eyesight test.

 

Step 3

Return to WTC with the following for the application of PDL (S$25 via NETS or Cashcard):

  • Valid Class 3/ 3C/ 4 Singapore qualified driving licence
  • Work permit, SP or EP
  • Signed company letter (endorsed by Traffic Police & SSDC for passing eye-sight test).

  

Step 4

After the PDL application, return to the SSDC Service Centre, level 3 for course registration. 

 

Note: The above process (Step 1- 4) may be completed on the same day subject to Traffic Police and SSDC operating hours.

 

Step 5

Refer to SSDC (www.ssdcl.com.sg) homepage for lesson & test booking invitation. 

 

Step 6

Make an eAppointment under Class 4/ 5 Lesson & Test Bookings calendar. On the day of appointment, proceed to the Service Centre, level 3 to book 1 Theory lesson, 5 Practical lessons and Traffic Police Practical test with the following:

  • Work permit, SP or EP
  • For Class 4 course - Class 3/ 3C Singapore Driving Licence & Class 4 PDL
  • For Class 5 course – Class 4 Singapore Driving Licence & Class 5 PDL
  • Student booklet 
  • eAppointment "Confirmedemail. 

 

Singaporean or Permanent Resident 

 

Step 1

Register in person at SSDC Service Centre, level 3, with the following:

  • Identity Card or valid Passport 
  • For Class 4 course - Class 3/ 3C Singapore Driving Licence 
  • For Class 5 course – Class 4 Singapore Driving Licence.

 

Step 2

Apply PDL online (www.police.gov.sg) with payment of S$25 via eNETS, Visa & Mastercard payment mode. 

 

Step 3

Refer to SSDC (www.ssdcl.com.sg) homepage for lesson & test booking invitation.

 

Step 4

Make an eAppointment under Class 4/ 5 Lesson & Test Bookings calendar. On the day of appointment, proceed to the Service Centre, level 3 to book 1 Theory lesson, 5 Practical lessons and Traffic Police Practical test with the following:

  • NRIC or valid Passport
  • For Class 4 course - Class 3/ 3C Singapore Driving Licence & Class 4 PDL
  • For Class 5 course – Class 4 Singapore Driving Licence & Class 5 PDL
  • Student booklet 
  • eAppointment "Confirmedemail. 

 

Important note:

  •  If you have any serious traffic offences pending against you, please don't apply for a licence. If a court eventually disqualifies you from holding or obtaining a driving licence, the disqualification could be for all driving licence classes, including any newly acquired licence.
  • If you have been awarded more than 12 demerit points or have cases pending against you which will make you liable to be awarded a total of more than 12 demerit points, you will not be allowed to take a practical driving test.
  • New driver who has two cases of not displaying a distinguishing mark (triangular sign) against them, whether the cases are concluded or otherwise, will not be allowed to take a practical driving test.
  • For conversion cases, if you have been issued a new identification number (from FIN to NRIC) before or after you have booked a test date, you are required to update the changes with the Traffic Police Testing Section and the driving school before the test date. Otherwise, you will be disqualified from taking your test.


Payment mode available at Service Centre are Cash and Nets only
